A few things, before you settle in.
What do I need to use Lookout?
The current Mac build needs an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later. Windows is planned; its requirements will be confirmed when a Windows build is available. You’ll also need the AI accounts you want to connect: Claude (Chat, Code and Cowork), ChatGPT (Chat and Codex), and Gemini.
Does Lookout include an AI subscription?
No. Lookout is the companion app. Your AI accounts, provider subscriptions and any API usage are separate. Lookout uses the connected provider’s runtime to run conversations.
Can I approve everything from the island?
Chats started inside Lookout bring supported permission requests and questions into the island. Gemini tool requests include Allow once and Reject. For Codex sessions started in Terminal, input and approvals stay in Terminal; Lookout shows their status and can bring Terminal forward.
What happens to my data?
Your conversations are handled by the AI providers you connect. Lookout keeps your preferences on your device and uses your account details to provide the service. If you join the waitlist, we use your name and email for launch updates.
What other AIs will be implemented?
We’re exploring Cursor and other AI tools for future integrations. We’ll share confirmed additions and availability as they’re ready.
